Derived from a type of holly leaf native to the Matto Grosso region of South America, yerba mate tastes somewhat like green tea with hints of tobacco and oak. It's packed with B-vitamins and antioxidants and contains natural caffeine as well as theobromine (as in dark chocolate) and theophylline (as in green tea).
