Back from Fiesta Nacional del Alfajor

Back from Fiesta Nacional del Alfajor

Posted by Citabria Ozzuna on

While at the Fiesta Nacional del Alfajor in La Falda, we sampled alfajores from more than 80 exhibitors from 15 different Argentine provinces: everything from Malbec-infused alfajores to banana split flavor. There was the cutting of the giant alfajor at the beginning and the crowning of the new "sweetest" queen at the end. Congratulations Valentina Ghibaudo! Entre Dos, run by couple Ariel Fabrizio and Constanza Carcaño, won best alfajor again with their chocolate alfajor. We got to exchange boxes with them and talk shop for a bit. Andrés also met up with the Sommelier of Alfajores, Facundo Calabró (one of this year's judges). After ingesting way too many of Argentina's finest alfajores, I can honestly say that Wooden Table Baking Company's would be in the running for the best. We just need them to make it an international competition. Next year in La Falda!
