Fiesta Nacional del Alfajor: A Sweet Adventure in La Falda

Fiesta Nacional del Alfajor: A Sweet Adventure in La Falda

Posted by Citabria Ozzuna on

While at the Fiesta Nacional del Alfajor in La Falda, we had the pleasure of sampling alfajores from over 80 exhibitors from 15 different Argentine provinces. From Malbec-infused alfajores to banana split flavors, there was a delightful variety to enjoy. The festival kicked off with the cutting of a giant alfajor and ended with the crowning of the new "sweetest" queen, Valentina Ghibaudo. Congratulations!

Celebrating the Best Alfajores

The winning team, Entre Dos, led by Ariel Fabrizio and Constanza Carcaño, once again took home the prize for the best alfajor with their delicious chocolate-filled creation. We had the opportunity to exchange boxes and discuss the art of making the perfect alfajor with them.

After tasting too many of Argentina's finest alfajores, we can confidently say that Wooden Table Baking Company's alfajores would be in the running for the best. We just need to make it an international competition. Who’s with us? Maybe next year in La Falda!

Counting Down to the 21st National Alfajor Festival

The countdown is on—only one month until we head to the 21st National Alfajor Festival in La Falda, Argentina, just outside of Cordoba. While we’ll enjoy tasting as many different alfajores as possible, we're most excited to see who will be crowned the National Queen of the Alfajor. Of course, there will also be music and festivities, but let’s be honest, we all know what’s really important!

Follow our adventures on Facebook, Instagram or Youtube. Our travels will take us through Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Salta, Cafayate, and Patagonia. We'll bring back all the food wisdom and inspiration to share with you!
