Introducing Conitos - You're Welcome!
Posted by Alan Ozzuna on
We are proud to introduce our new line of conitos - little cones. If you don’t know them already, we are sorry for the possible addiction to ensue. Conitos first appeared in the 60’s as part of Havana’s line of alfajores. They called them Havanettes, as many Argentines still do. Now that they have spread, they’re called conitos.
When I was a child, having a conito was a magical experience that happened maybe once a year. Only Havanna made them at the time and Havannas were made in Mar del Plata (500 kilometers away from Buenos Aires), so unless someone brought them to you, they were very hard to get!
The fun part for me was the shape, since you can bite just the tip of the mountain and leave the cookie if you want - kind of like an Oreo experience but way better! Conitos have a ton of dulce de leche - a whole spoon’s worth (my daily intake goal) plus a layer of dark chocolate. What could go wrong?
